Written by Testament and Zodwa Nyoni this is a gig version of a brand new musical.

Through live music and performance, you’ll hear about the true story of a black women’s struggle against the political machine and her ground-breaking bid to become President in 1972. 

Music and lyrics are written by acclaimed writer & composer Testament (Black Men Walking, Royal Court, Orpheus in the Record Shop Opera North/BBC TV) and book from award winning playwright Zodwa Nyoni (Darkest Part of The Night The Kiln, Boi Boi is Dead, Tiata Fahodzi).

Expect an uplifting night of 70s inspired music, with actors performing alongside a full live band including legendary musicians from the UK funk and soul scene with credits including Jamiroquai, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, Omar, Corinne Bailey Rae, Post-Modern Jukebox and Mark Ronson to name a few.
